*uploaded what i hope could pass as a more decent photo of this piece, though still not completely satisfied... actual colours are... for lack of a better description, softer-looking in person. lol.

SEVERUS & LILY!!! I could never get over them!

First off, the film "Crime and Punishment in Suburbia" started this (I mean come on... pale, sullen, dark-haired teenage boy -- ring any bells?)

It had almost never gotten finished -- lost steam in the middle of it as Lily gave me such grief. I had to redraw her all over again and actually expected my eraser to rub right through the sheet. Luckily, cartridge paper is unbelievably forgiving with erasures, if not with water (surface immediately starts to wrinkle and fray with more heavy-handed brush strokes (I was just too impatient to wait for proper watercolour paper). :D

What made me finish is the sudden burst of inspiration from :iconnorthangel27: 's "Quiet Desperation" -- a fic I came across thanks to :iconbullettimescully: She, too, was inspired to create art from this story.

Quiet Desperation :library:
If you haven't read it, what are you waiting for? Clickety-click! [link] (M rating -- just wanted to toss that in for all the kiddies out there. lol)
What can I say? In my world, :iconnorthangel27: = canon. :iconcheerplz:
Thanks so much to both of you.

I just wanted to note that this is the first time I felt brave enough to attempt blue green tints with skin tones. Always wanted to try it ages ago but I was too much of a wuss. Quite happy with how it came out, though. Glad I took the chance. :aww:

Again, no scanner. Sorry. Played a bit with the contrast here: [link]

This is great! I love Severus' expression. His face is mesmerizing here. Her expression is perfect as well. Actually, everything is perfect here.

A beautiful composition - especially their expressions ( you've captured the look of 'quiet desperation' on Severus's face in an amazing way.) And yes, I have read the fanfic bearing that name. It is, like all of Northangel's writings, simply wonderful - keeps your eyes glued to the screen of your PC. till you've read it all. Many times over!!

:iconcheerplz: :faint: Oh my goodness but this is gorgeous. I am so happy that my humble little story could inspire something so beautiful. You Lily and your Severus are just perfect. Once again, I am wholly enamoured of your style.

This is wonderful work!

I meant 'your' Lily and your Severus are perfect. The typo gremlins strike again!

thank you! :D but to be quite honest, it's more trial and error for the most bit. :giggle: i love the translucent quality of this kind of paint but it's such a temperamental medium and has oftentimes brought me to near hair-tearing states -- or maybe that's just me. lol
